A UK Summer Solstice Retreat, “Embodying Wilderness” with Gemma Mallol and Blanche Mulholland

18th – 21st June 2020, Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire, UK

  • The nourishing landscape of Hebden Bride, Yorkshire, provides a wonderful context for immersion and deepening of our relationship to nature outside, and our own within.
  • We will gather in a beautiful studio space over a weekend and work both inside and out in the landscape to awaken our senses to a wealth of information that we can draw on for our movement, meditation and creative expression.
  • The weekend will be a spacious invitation to slow down and connect with our instinctual and intuitive natures, time for quiet reflection and sharing in community.
  • On this retreat we will spend time with the earth, trees, rivers and skies around us… moving, contemplating, reflecting, feeling, walking, dialoguing, and allow nature to guide us, to speak to us through the wisdom in our bodies.
  • A hot tub will be available for us to enjoy under the night skies and we will have a fire circle to celebrate the transition into Summer.

Our approach: The somatic practices of embodiment (though yoga, movement and meditation) can guide us toward a profound attunement to and inter-dependency with nature where we are re-oriented inwards towards the original body, the primal body and an experience of our wild selves, where we are nature, where we feel deeply nourished and in communion with the earth. As we listen deeply, we may start to understand how we might give back… How might we come into a relationship of mutual nourishment and restoration with the earth? How might we forge and nurture supportive communities? How might we step forward and embody earth wisdom?

£240 Includes main meals, snacks, hot beverages, hot tub, fire circle, Blanche & Gemma’s sessions. The retreat is non-residential so you will need to book your own accommodation in Hebden Bridge
